Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings?
We offer private customized tastings by appointment only. We’ll discuss the details of your wedding, your style, your flowers, dress, or anything you’d like, and your vision of the perfect wedding cake. Upon deciding to have City Sweets make your wedding cake, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date. The balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding. You are invited to bring a guest or two with you to the tasting. Please let us know in advance how many people will be coming so we can prepare enough samples for everyone.
What are your tasting hours?
Hours vary. We are available on weekdays as well as weekends. On weekdays, the last appointment is at 6:30pm and on weekends,it’s at 5:30.
Do you charge a tasting/consultation fee?
No. But, in the event you have to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you give us AT LEAST a 4 hour notice.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
We offer custom designed cakes. However, if there is a design that you have your heart set upon, we'll do that for you. We will, however, suggest a twist or variation in the design to make it your own. Your wedding is special – about you and your fiancé — and should reflect your own unique personalities.

How do you price your cakes?
Cakes are priced individually based upon design. If you have a specific budget in mind, please let us know and we will create a cake that makes your wallet, eyes and tastebuds happy! Because of the labor and attention given to each and every cake we create, there is a $450.00 minimum.
On average, how far in advance of the wedding day do you prepare the cake?
The cake is baked no more than a day and a half in advance and immediately covered in buttercream and refrigerated to keep out the air and seal in the freshness. Your cake will always be as tender, moist and delicious as the cupcakes you sample at your tasting.
Will you work with the bride's florist to garnish the cake?
We prefer to work with our hand sculpted sugar flowers. All the flowers you see on this website we made from sugar. We can make most any flower in any color. If your florist’s flowers are guaranteed organic, we will decorate your cake with them. Otherwise, we cannot because the majority of flowers are sprayed with pesticides.
What dietary restrictions can you accommodate?
We do VEGAN and WHEAT FREE cakes as well. What cake accessories do you rent out? We rent out cake stands, cake plates, candy jars & other interesting items you may need for your special day.
