How to set up a tasting?

Please call or email us with the date and time you’d like to come in. Please choose 6 cake flavors and 6 fillings and/or frostings and
email them to us. When we meet we’ll discuss the details of your special day, your style, your flowers, dress, or anything you’d like, and your vision of the perfect cake. When
you decide to have City Sweets make your cake, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date. The balance is due two weeks prior to your event. You are invited to bring a guest
or two with you to the tasting. Please let us know in advance how many people will be coming so we can prepare enough samples for everyone.

NOTE: Tastings/consultations are by appointment only. Please call or email for availability. During peak wedding season we hold tastings
Monday through Wednesday, the latest appointment being at 7:30 pm. Cake tastings are custom made specifically with your requested flavors. Please be on time for your appointment.
A 24-hour notice is required if you need to cancel/reschedule.

On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?

The cake is baked no more than a day and a half in advance and immediately covered in buttercream and refrigerated to keep out the air and seal in the freshness. Your cake will
always be as tender, moist and delicious as the cupcakes you sample at your tasting.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?

We use the best ingredients we can get our oven mitts on. Often, they come from Europe and particularly France. Our fondant comes from Switzerland. It will surprise you if you
think you don’t like fondant.
Will you work with the florist to garnish the cake?

Not all real flowers are food safe or non-toxic. The majority of flowers are sprayed with pesticides, even those considered food safe. This is why we prefer to work with our hand
sculpted sugar flowers. All the flowers you see in our portfolio are hand made from sugar. We can create any flower in any color.
Pricing / Payment

Since each cake is custom made and has so many variables it’s impossible to have a set price list. Cakes are priced individually based upon design and detail of sugar work.
Because of the amount of labor and attention given to each and every cake we create, there is a $450.00 minimum.

Deposits and payments in full may be made by cash, Paypal, or personal check. Payments by Paypal will incur an additional 3% processing fee. Please note that payments by
check are subject to a $45 return check fee. Payments made by check will not be considered “paid” until the check has cleared.

What dietary needs can you accommodate?

We can accommodate almost any dietary restriction such as Gluten Free, Soy Free, Vegan, Organic, Lactose Free, Kosher Style and specific food allergies.

Fee starts at $100.00, within Manhattan, otherwise based upon mileage.
Besides cakes, what other types of desserts do you provide?

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?

We offer custom designed cakes. Your cake should be as unique as you are.
